I got this coin out of my husband's change. It's almost perfect except for the little black spots. Would you please guess a grade? WIN_20181209_18_49_54_Pro.jpg WIN_20181209_18_50_23_Pro.jpg

Pretty. I love it when the wheat ears are still complete. And from pocket change. Cool find...,. Agree with AU-50.

I’m a penny pincher!!! Love it!! Don’t worry about the black spots. It’s just dirt and gunk (can be cleaned without damage). I wouldn’t clean it!? But I agree xf45. Because of the details of the wheat stocks and the collar and bow tie. Some wear but a good look coin............just my op

Those are carbon spots. They won't come off without killing the coin.

Your right about killing the coin. But I have also read that a minerals bath will do it but that will take a couple of years to reverse the process of soaking the coin. But it is more likely to be a organic material that is growing over the years than a carbon spotting. I still agree to not clean the coin! If you do the cleaning process you will more and likely end up with areas of cleaner spots then the rest of the coins. Do a search on coin talk about carbon spots and you can read a lot more professional op about it!! Jmop!!

I'll go with AU-50 as well. Rare find from pocket change. Perhaps someone decided to spend their late dad's coin collection.
