Toning is progressing since being placed in a gun safe. I'm curious how it'll look in another year or two.

@BlackberryPie I think you might want to consider removing it from the current environment as it seems to have reached an ideal (appealing) level of toning. I could see it going terminal if left in the same environment (gun safe) for too much longer.

You don't think I can monitor it every few months then if it starts going terminal remove it to a more permanent plastic home?

I'm certain that you can. If it was mine, I would just be afraid (I think it looks great now and wouldn't want to risk it any further).

If you want to leave it, I would recommend monitoring more often (maybe even once every few days).

I had it near the bottom of the safe by the stick heater it came with. I moved the coin further up to the top today. My father used to have it in an ammo can inside a closet since he bought it in the 70's.

@ddddd what do you think about this one? Does it need a new home too? It's a purple with neon rainbow hints.

Methinks that there's sulphur (one of the 3 main ingredients in gunpowder) in the air inside your gunsafe ... I'd remove it. Just being in an ammo can for years was probably more than enough to start foo that great toning.

I like the first coin you posted more. It might be the photo, but the colors on the first seem more vibrant and attractive than on this second coin.

    Both are very nice though!
