I have to agree with smullen, I love new coins as well. I now have a roll of the coins as well and I like them. Are they artistict beauties like the Walking Halves or the St. Gauden's gold coins? No, but they are nice coins in their own right. Remember, the Barber coins were not accepted when they were first issued, but now many people love to collect them and find them to be pretty coins.

No matter what the mintage is, it will only be for few months and then Washington is done.

That's my point. The coins in bank rolls and those in mint rolls are exactly the same. But those in mint rolls sell for more every time, sometimes substantially more. And 9 times out of 10 the person buying them pays more because they think the coins in the mint rolls are better somehow - when they are not. They don't know that coins all come out of the very same bags and are all treated & handled exactly the same.

That's what I mean when I say people are being taken advantage of, they are buying a product that the sellers hype up and advertise as being special - when they are not. To me that's just wrong.

The mint mark is on the edge of the coins.

Along with the other words on the edge of the coin, they placed the MM there to allow for the designs on the obverse and reverse.
