Over the next few weeks I will be posting some of my Early Dated coins. The reference numbers I am using are per Robert A. Levinson's book: The Early Dated Coins of Europe 1234-1500. Every week I will add coins by decade. If you have any to post PLEASE do so, the more the merrier. If you decide to post pics please make them relevant to the decade. Post any comments/questions and I will try to reply to them as time allows. My only stipulation is that the coin being posted must have a date. Let's have some fun and share our collecting interests.

@ycon That is a gorgeous piece. The last two years 3-4 have come up for auction and I've been out bid each time. Very nice piece!! Thanks for sharing.
I notice all the coins (except the Roman numerals) use the older depiction of the number 4, is this common?
St. Gallen, located in N.E. Switzerland struck the first coinage that had positional Arabic style numbers date. The modern style "4" was first used in 1424. Other mints in the country started using the modern "4" in 1492. The rest of Europe slowly adopted the new "4" in the early 1490's. Roman numerals and the "bowtie" style "4" were used otherwise.
