A couple of weeks ago, I found out there was a variety of the 1980-D Cent. Living in Denver, a lot of D mintmarked cents come through here. I looked through all of my 1980-Ds and found this one: upload_2020-3-29_15-19-35.jpeg
Any thoughts? In case you are wondering, that IS raised.

The D over S coins of old, were possible.
Now all of the S cents are proofs since 1975. Not possible.

That is why I said “So-Called.” It is actually just die damage, but it is in the Cherrypicker’s Guide, FS-034

In the 5th edition it is noted :" Removed Listing" and " we are very comfortable deleting this". Jim

    FS-034 is a 1980 Philadelphia minted small cent. FS-034 is a DDO.

FS-034.1 is a listing for a 1980-D that has been delisted.

I haven’t read it. I can’t afford those books! Thank you for the help.

In all honesty, it is embarrassing that I made that mistake.

Its no big deal. Every person on this site gets that same excitement when they find something that may be rare. We have all had that let down, too. Not rare. Keep looking and learning. Rare varieties are still out there to be found.
