Haven't seen a post about "YOUR WLs". I love these coins, in my Top 5 of all time. I'm collecting the coins dated 1916-1921, totaling 20 coins. They range in grade from VG-MS. Some of the dates are hard to find in decent condition. I have 10 of the 20 needed so far. Here's my favorite. .
Early WLHs are a lot tougher to find with meat and problem-free than the vast majority of folks realize. Your 1917 has a really nice look to it. Here is a 1917 WLH that I own that is in a PCGS old green holder (OGH)-
I sold all my Walkers and I gave this one to my twin brother for his birthday last year. If you look closely you can see fantastic light iridescent rainbow toning on the reverse.
I am also working on an acquisition of a proof walker. Hoping I can have her in hand by the end of next month.
I think the colors are great and the whole coin is fantastic. If you ever wanna part with her, keep me in mind.
Love the thread. Gives me a chance to post this beautifully toned 1942 PF-66 CAC Walker. For whatever reason most Walkers don't seem to tone very nicely so when I found this incredible Proof it was a no brainer. As a bonus it happens to be a Mark Feld special. Does anyone else think there should be a special pedigree offered by the TPGs for Mark Feld coins, or am I the only one? I consider myself lucky to have picked up 3 incredible pieces from him before he left to go work for HA. All 3 will remain in the family to be passed down to future generations.
I've known Mark for many years. He is a great guy with a great eye and I am fortunate to be able to call him a personal friend.
Here's a nice toner Liberty that Walked into the office the other day: 1917 Walking Liberty Half MS64 PCGS Enjoy! Best Regards, George
