Here's one I picked up at my local coin meeting. I had not been to a meeting of this club in about a year, and man am I glad I went tonight. I brought a few coins in to sell and placed them out on a table. I had a gentleman approach me and strike up a conversation. He picked up a 1924 Peace Dollar graded MS-64 in a small ANACS holder I had and asked me how much I was asking for it. I quoted him a price which he thought was fair. He set my coin back down and presented me with a small binder of coins. He asked me if I would like to look through it, of course I would.

Flipping through the pages, I could tell he had similar tastes as I do in coins. As I got towards the back one coin just jumped at me. It was a 1964-D Kennedy Half Dollar. The toning on it was absolutely stunning!! I asked him if he was interested in selling it. He told me that he would be. I was prepared for him to throw out a price of around $150.00 or so based on the looks and condition of it. My heart just about skipped a beat when he asked me if he could use it for $25.00 towards the price of the Peace Dollar I was selling. I kind of misunderstood him at first and thought maybe he was asking for the Peace Dollar plus $25.00 from me. So I asked him if that was what he meant. He told me no, he would give me $60.00 cash plus the Kennedy Half. So $25.00 for the Kennedy. I did not hesitate much and accepted his offer. He was very happy with the trade as was I.

Here's the Peace Dollar he walked away with. @Cascade may recognize it. It was an eBay pick that I paid $35.00 for. It has spectacular luster which is what the gentleman and I both liked about it along with the toning.

Here is the 1964-D Kennedy Half I got plus $60.00 cash. I think I did alright on this one. So this Kennedy cost me -$50.00 which is a bit under the $50.00 limit.
