I have wanted a clashed leaves Mercury Dime for about a decade, but I don't actively search, and have never been lucky enough just to stumble onto one. That is beautiful.
Sorry for the delay responding, but I was waiting for my new camera before answering. So, no, I don't think it is a DDR 001. Here is a picture of the reverse with better resolution. OTOH, there seem to be two die cracks. One starts at 7:00 and runs beneath the F in FIVE, and continues under that legend and curves up through CENTS. The second is at 10:00 starting at the rim and connecting the tops of U and N.
How about this one? I picked it up tonight as a consolation prize to losing a really cool pattern coin with great toning. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1944-MERCU...ucvWEB00dCx%2FfnVas9I%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
Its one of the stronger leaves clashes I've seen. I thought it would be a neat addition to me interesting mercury dimes collection.
Been sick (and tired) for a week (thanks to having plenty of rehearsals in a small room with a bunch of children for my very first Nutcracker performance) and then an auction on Sunday, where I picked this up in an original SMS set for about $6: 1967 Kennedy Half Quintuple Die Obverse FS-101 (CONECA DDO-006)
Here's a real to be honest...dumb luck purchase...based on just liking the simple design of the obv. So because it was silver worth about 97 cents melt and liked the ship I purchased this on Sunday for $25.......turns out it's value is near or around 125/$150! And had a limited mintage of 400,000 and only struck in 1923 and 1927.
Another coin show acquisition today, this just made the thread limit, and will go into my Wife's Christmas stocking. Morgans are her absolute favorite coins.
