The only known example of a variety is the 77 s/s , which is one of the top 25 variety for this series.
But this is one cool coin I love to examine in hand..
The die crack as well as a lot going on in its denticales.
Anytime I find and can buy a seated quarter in this condition for $30 it's a done deal.

6?! Where did you find it at that low a price?
Several years back, I paid $25 for one in much more circulated condition than yours.

  6. At my lcs, in the 90% half dollar bin if you can believe it. Same day i pulled 8 uncirc washington carver commems, another stone mtn in similar shape and this 1892 here that ive later been told was either a proof or proof like.

Has a wonderful blue hue in hand.

Near impossible to get a pic showing just how mirrored the fields are and how frosty the devices appear in hand with my phone camera.

At any rate i bought them all at 12 dollars per 1 buck face.

Just timing really, the owner of the shop was having heart surgery and someone had just brought them in, most likely a deceased relatives coins i figure.

The caretaker of the shop paid 4 each without as much as a second look i guess and chunked them in the bin.

When i found the 1892 i mentioned to him that it looked almost proof like. He agreed and swallowed hard because he knew that baby was long gone.

I took it back in several months later and the numismatist said it needed to be slabed and offered me quit a bit more than id gave him for it.

I declined, love it too much.

I agree, maybe think about getting that coin in a slab.

An alternative to slabbing is a 2x2 with a cotton liner. It's my preferred method of storage unless you are marketing the coin to slab collectors.

This 1943 Walker came from a large eBay dealer for 23.75. It's a lovely coin softly struck from worn dies. I'm glad to have it.

Ok, I overpaid a little for these. $26 for both, from different auctions. I didnt really have 1 of either type of coin, so it was worth it to me.
The IHP is in really great shape, but I'm a little concerned about the carbon spots.
The V nickel looks better in hand that it even did in the pics. 1902 and 1912 respectively .
Aside from the 1855 Napoleon III Bronze Deux Centimes, the Indian Head 1902 is my oldest coin to date. 20190905_214230.jpg 1 20190905_214242.jpg 20190905_214132.jpg 20190905_214030.jpg

That is a terrific deal for that 1918-S. I took the liberty of reposting it as a full image because it is nice enough for everyone to appreciate.

Yeah I forgot to make it large in the post. Thanks! It was listed as an AU on eBay. Here are the seller's pics: 1918-S 1C.jpg 1918-S 1C Rev.jpg

Shows a bit more luster than in hand, but doesn't quite reveal the details. It's a very nicely struck coin.
