Oh no, you aren’t going to start referring to yourself in third person too, are you? That weird cat / person is more than enough. I also admire this great pickup and restoration.
Raw high-grade SLQs are fairly easy to buy raw for cheap if the pictures aren’t good. That one is particularly nice.
I Cherry picked 2 1918/7's from a 5lb coffee can. These coins were being used over the years as poker chips. Sold both raw, the first for $750, and $75 for the second which was the only coin in the can that had been slashed multiple times with a knife.
Once someone on CU was looking through dealer inventory when they found three 1914/3 nickels priced as regular 1914s. He told the dealer that he had found three 14/3s and wanted to buy them, and the dealer just took them to the back table and said “They’re not for sale.” Never tell anyone about a cherrypick until you buy it.
Two nice Capped Bust Half Dimes. 1830 ($15-20), and 1834 ($40). Would be great if somebody could attribute these .
everythinghalfdimes.com is a great website for the Capped Bust type. I need to pick up a reference book for the Seated type half dimes. I believe the 1830 is LM-8 R-1. The 1834 is LM-4 and also R-1.
I picked these up yesterday. This first one is a 1956 Type 1 Proof Franklin Half Dollar, I paid $27.00 for it. And this 1917-D Type 2 Standing Liberty Quarter that I snagged for $3.00. It was in a dealers junk quarter box marked 12X face.
Talk about a steal!! Tough to find examples like this for sale, let alone at such a low price!(ask me how I know)
My LCS is high on prices, but on some series he is a conservative grader. Most of those Indians he had at AU55.
