What’s going on with the eagles tail feathers? Doesn’t quite look like the rev die gouge...but looks like something out of the ordinary.
I'm not sure. I do see a bit of what appears to be a small die gouge between the tail feathers and the group of arrows. It's certainly not the "Die Gouge" variety, but I wonder if it's the precursor? I'll have to examine it further.
I was wondering if it's a 7B EDS. I once cherry picked a 7B MDS but ended trading it to someone who is putting together an 88-O set for a spare 1A he had.
What I mean is that I didn't think it was questionable or I wouldn't have submitted it... I like the coin.
I'll have to check the '88-O. The original question was regarding the '56 Washington Quarter. It has a variety with a large die gouge on the tail feathers. I did come across a 7B on Great Collections recently. But I did not bid on it. It was an OGH PCGS MS-64. Do I need to regret not bidding on it? https://www.greatcollections.com/Coin/637085/1888-O-Morgan-Silver-Dollar-PCGS-MS-64-OGH-2nd-Gen
