    Please note-
    1. I did not pay extra for a 70.
    2. I own a graded modern coin but is a variety, not the common issue.

I'm not sure why these coins are disliked by so many. SBA was a powerful, energetic person that made a substantial difference in the abolitionist and suffragist movements. She's the first non-allegorical woman portrayed on US coins, and her likeness is both accurate and artistically-engraved. I don't know of anyone who doesn't like the eagle-moon design carried over from Ikes, and the 11-sided rims add an interesting touch. (Why 11? Does anyone know? Why not 13, for the original colonies?)

Granted, they weren't popular as circulating coins, but that's been the case with most US dollar coins. But as a collector coin, I think it's far more interesting than a lot stuff the mint put out in the late 20th-century.

I'm sure it's not the moon design. You may have answered your own question as to why the lack of popularity.

Hillary Clinton in 2016, any takers, anyone? :bag:

Well, Susan B. Anthony was no Jennifer Lawrence, but that's a vapid and sexist reason to dislike the coin. None of the founding fathers were any prettier.

I can't explain it. I also can't explain the choice of Obama over a Clinton back in 2008. Same kind of popularity contest in my view.

Thanks for the pricing, I finally found a book that had some pricing and it was about 3X the normal price.

I will keep my eyes open for them

    bdunnse Who dat?

    Why 11?

    This site says...

FAQ: What is the significance of the rim having 11 sides?
    Answer: There is no significance.

I personally think it is because the reverse (the Ikes and of course the SBAs) is based on the Apollo 11 insignia.

There are 13 stars for the colonies, both obv and rev.
