No, a note can have pin holes and still grade uncirculated. Yours obviously isn't at that grade, but the pin holes don't automatically kill it.
Thanks! Worth keeping in your opinion? Only 2 star runs for this series denomination, both with low printage...
Went to my bank today and my teller had $1600 worth of star notes and old face notes! So I grabbed them all and raced home to see what I had. I took a few pics but not of everything. Look at that sad sad $50 bill

Forgive my ignorance here but maybe someone can help me My business is 99% cash and we go through quite a bit of it. I would not call myself a collector (because of my ignorance) but I am more of a hoarder. I take any star and small face bill I find and put it aside. What are some of the things that I should look for if I wanted to cross that bridge and start collecting?
Beachloan, I would strongly recommend picking up this book. It is a great tool and should help you decide on possibly making a switch from hoarder to collector. Some might argue those things are on and the same. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1440217033/ref=oh_o00_s01_i02_details
I received these in change today. The top one isn't a star note of course, but the bottom one is. Both are 1963 and I don't see too many of those in change! Weird day Thanks for looking. -L
@LionelR That is a nice find. You don't find a lot of the 1963 anymore and I have never found a 63 star. I would call it a good day not a weird day. Derek
Went to MAC to pull out money to buy a strap of singles and got a $20 2004A GF01790819*, then pulled 3 *'s out of the strap....2006 B01059386*, G04537560* & 2009 A04309721*.
lionel- that's really strange. i found a 1963 star last week too! my first ever star for that year. nice find! for some reason, i've been pulling lots of '06 stars this week: new york: b01593964* b09899579* (640k run) chicago: g01497925* g04290877* g04617008* kansas city: j03333495* (mycurrencycollection.com lists it as a 320k run, but i'm pretty sure it's a 640k) also, i found a series 1981a that's not a star, but has a high serial number: L99996370B. i think i'll keep it for now, until i get something with a higher number.
ive got a 1976 10 dollar bill with a star on it...what does that mean exactly and are the worth anything?
eric- depending on the condition of the note and the district/run/serial info, it may carry a small premium over face. in order for anyone to lend their expert opinions on here (which you won't get from me because i'm definitely not an expert ) you will probably need to post an image or two of the note. by the way, nice find!
