I became a member after this was posted :bored:
The hard ones are Antiochus XI/XIII which are obtainable, but the usurpers will be the most difficult particularly Molon (ruled about two years). Right now I am six short of the entire dynasty if you exclude Tigranes II.

I can read Antiochos Epiphanoy on reverse of this silver Seleucid Tet weighing 15.71 g. I'm not sure which number does he list among his Dynasty but the superb condition of this coin has really amazed me.

His full title: Antiochos IV Epiphanoy born 215 BC ruled from 175 - 164BC
although the IV in his title , he was the 9th in succession since Seleukos I Nicator (320-281BC) Epiphanoy was nicknamed the mad king
very nice coin, never seen one with Zeus standing with a macedonian star.

If you look at the above post you will see the same coin with different date. It's
    Antiochus VIII Grypus.

Actually that coin is minted under antiochus VIII Grypus (spellings vary), not IV. He is known as having a "hook nose" as can be seen in his portrait above.

    Very nice Seleukids!

I only have a budget version just to have a Diadochi representative from the Seleukids...

Seleucid coins are beautiful and they're still reasonably priced.

I think the following coin represents Antiochos II Theos. Hope I've acquired a suitable Tetradrachm. I usually understand more about the Romans. ptol.JPG ptor.JPG

I don't buy many Seleucid bronzes. In general they made them hastily and in large quantities, which means you have many off-center strikes, then they rode them long and hard in commerce, which means many of them are worn and damaged. Then toss in a few thousand years of the arid Levantine clime and you've got some pretty decrepit coins. In fact, it's much easier to collect higher-grade Seleucid silver than bronze, if you've got the wallet for it of course.

But this one arrived today and it's very nice, Antiochos I with Apollo seated on omphalos. I love it!

I've purchased only one also for the same reason--- to have one representative. I could purchase more---I like the designs of the coins. I need however to concentrate (my funds) on my real interest which is Judaean coins.
