Ok. I was just curious. I can't afford those super grades yet anyway. Still plugging along on the quarters though. Just acquired a nice 1851 and an 1878-CC
Nice! A 77 in 66 is not a huge dollar coin tho. Is a great type set coin too. Was something I bought for inventory not for me even tho it's an upgrade for my type set. I seem to be doing a lot of later type seated coins in proofs
You're right, but since I'm working on a set I couldn't justify $3K for a common enough quarter. I'd rather have a really tough date or a pattern from that era to expand the set. (Or even a couple of the slightly tougher dates in AU instead). It's an awesome looking coin though. I certainly wish I was there financially to collect a set of that higher grade level. Maybe one day.
@Mainebill , that '77 is sick looking! Love, love, love it. Those look like heritage pics. Am I correct?
True. You can always trade up at a later date. Especially as your working with good original au - ms stuff there's always a demand for it
Your very correct. Was one that slipped thru a weekly sale. Opened it for the reserve which was below wholesale bid on it and got it. Is every bit as nice in hand
Not to mention there is a proverbial sea of seated quarters on the market right now with the Gardner disposition continuing.
