Edssco, that I one pretty '35-S! I absolutely love those white AU Peace dollars and am one a way from a good collection of them. Have a pic of the reverse?
Here's mine. Not a very pretty one. Not much value. It was given to me by my great grandmother when I was baptized many years ago. Sentimental value, priceless.
Man, you can learn something new every day in coin collecting. Even something like flattening the staples. Good thing I don't have a lot of 2X2 anymore, or I would've been busy. Thanks for the heads up.
Put this and a bunch of other melt value Morgan and Peace dollars in a brown paper bag (simply for storage) decades ago and tossed them into a drawer. I was surprised by the toning on some of the coins when I pulled them out some years ago to do an inventory.
Let's not let the "homely" go unrecognized either . . . Here are a couple of my "road kill" Peace Dollars. Z
Is it a VAM 3, large flattened filled D on the reverse or VAM 4, micro opened center D, the rarer one. Enjoy your collecting.
Saw an old article that said even Peace Dollars got bought up in the Coin Bubble of 1988-89.....they fell 70-80% in the next 4 years. You guys back then remember ?
I really enjoy collecting Peace Dollars. I've put together an uncirculated set and a couple of circulated sets. The latest endeavors include putting together a partial NGC certified GSA set and a PCGS 1922 P grading set. I'm having a hard time getting the f15 to vf25 grades. I keep hitting all around and have had three come back at f12. I should be better at grading in this range when it's all done. https://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/showcase/4116
