Post your Peace Dollars

I picked up this 1926 S peace dollar. Uncirculated for the year my grandfather was born. I don't think I paid too much for it. However I'm not familiar with the peace dollar market. These are the best photos I could capture with my phone showing reflectivity.

Picked this one up Friday at the Mississippi Numismatic Association coin show in Biloxi:

They were hung over when they graded this one! (IMO)

 

Fresh back from grading:

 

A really nice Peace, but MS61 ? What did they possibly see to put a 61 on it. Looks like it should have gone higher. Would love to hear the experts responses to this as to what they see or don't see.

 

My honest opinion is that high MS grades for that Earring VAM are super rare and small timer like me doesn't warrant the high dollar examples. But that's the "conspiracy theory" coming out. Who knows?

That is not a Dan Carr piece. The mint mark is too big, and the obverse is wrong.

Oh the humanity. Why do people keep cleaning coins like that?

 

Just like today's movies - redoing what has been done in the past, or converting another idea (like comic books) to become movies.

I bought this one a few months ago. I wasn't seriously looking for a Peace Dollar at the time, but when I saw it I became infatuated and eventually gave in.
