66? Really? Liberty looks like she was hit by a truck. Did the grader miss the marks on her left leg? ...still a nice coin though.
Hey now, there's no need to go insulting my first real gold coin. She's a nice lady! It's a large gold coin with great original color, so I think the graders are inclined to look past a few marks on the high points. PCGS and CAC both seem to think a 66+ is appropriate. You also have to consider the fact that large, high resolution images tend to show more flaws than you would notice in-hand with a loupe.
All new on the right in slabs. Working on a PCGS graded quarter eagle set now....saving up for the 1911d then will finish the easier ones after the fact.
Makes for 2 of us. More a silver guy but everyone here knows how I feel about original skin and toning
Sorry, I didn't want to be mean. But I couldn't believe they'd "look past a few marks" and grade it as high as 66. Maybe the pics are really too good ;-)
