Broken date punch not broken die The S-151 appears to be die state VI with the crack through the E in AMERICA and a small rim break at 7:00 on the obverse. What is interesting though is the cracks at 9:00 on the obverse from die states II and III are not really visible.
That 1798 is spectacular, Leadfoot! Yum. Here's an 1817 N6, R1 from the Jules Reiver, George Ramont collections. NGC graded. Lance.
How can you say that with that chain cent you have????? PS - Nice coins everyone. Love it keep em coming.
If there's one series I know well, it's late date large cents. That's really a wonderful coin. Thanks for sharing it. Here's my own example of that date: It's a lowly ANACS XF 45.
1794 Scot D&H-2a !/2P NGC PF 65. This Token is so dark it is almost black and terrible to photograph. Slabbed mostly for protection.
I lay my hands on these Centavos in gem grades whenever I can. Bought these from a large Heritage sale last year. 1880 is MS 65 BN and the 1895 with the cool die chips is awarded MS 66 BN by NGC. Matt
Some really nice coins being posted! Here's a '38. Softly struck, but I liked its warm "countenance." These are not my photos.
