    I like this thread and would love to see more notes posted, so let's give it a bump. Here's one from beautiful Ypsilanti, Michigan (where I went to school). This one is of interest for the portraits of Washington and Franklin. In 1847, a decade after this note was issued, the banknote company recycled these engravings for the first two postage stamps that the U.S. Post Office put out.

    First obsolete currency. An 1853 Farmers and Exchange $5. Kinda interesting due to the slaves on the note. Also the back was eventually destroyed by Union troops during the Civil War.
