I don't know yet, but I will be here on Christmas Afternoon to let you all know! I have a distinct impression I will be getting more of the Whitman year set holders. Which is good because it is #2 on my wantlist this year, behind NASCAR trading cards, which is from now on my perennial #1. I doubt I will get any indivigual coins but you never know! I didn't buy myself anything, I spent all my money to get presents for my mom and brother, the only people I buy things for.
The 375 H&H Magnum loaded with a 300 grain bullet can have a velocity of about 2600 FPS. That is a huge bullet & huge speed. Please post a picture if you have one.
I kinda bought myself a present. 2 pieces of holed gold! -1853 1 dollar -1880 5 dollar I'll post pictures when I get my holed 1909 vdb. because I'm going to make a thread showing all the coins
I look forward to your thread & photos! Did you know that the Cave Troll also has a holed coin collection in a Dansco 7070 album? I suspect he is still looking for the elusive Lafayette dollar with a contemporary hole.
Let's see if this works. It's a 375 Ruger Boddington Safari Lion limited to 250 pieces. It's a bit hotter than a 375 H&H.
If I wanted a coin for Christmas I would definitely have to treat myself. Nobody in my family or circle of friends has any interest. I am expecting 4 new Morgans in any day now.. just over melt and circulated (altho one has potential!) ... I'm Vam hunting! I did buy my younger son this as part of his Christmas present.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200408779795&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT I just hope he doesn't look at me with scorn when he opens it!! I just really would love it if my kids picked up the hobby. I keep trying! Thanks to an awesome member here (who I am not sure I should name out of respect for his privacy) my older son will have two AMAZING early English George III coins. I'll bet he will flip when he opens that box, along with the movie he asked for "The Madness of King George".
Not intended to be a christmas present. I bought the following denarius of Plautilla at an auction last september, and it happened to be lost in the mail. I have been quite annoyed for a while, and today, I got an email from the auction house saying they've had the coin back and will send it. Nice story, Huh ? Q
My original intent was to buy the proof Libertad set, but instead I bought a hoard of Canadian cents. The Libertad's will have to wait a couple of months.
My wife and I have never been able to wait until Christmas to exchange gifts. I got the two most recent Krause World Coin books - 1901-2000, and 2001-present. I've already used them to catalog all my foreign coins. Joe
Coin books are really great Christmas gifts. Last year, the new Cherrypickers was available something like a week before Christmas and was really popular.
Not exactly for Christmas as I picked these up last month but it's as close to Christmas as the budget will allow.(The kids want Christmas presents you know.) I have to stay away from coins this time of year. The 24 was an upgrade and the 31 was one of the four(now three)missing to complete my set.
From my Aunt & Uncle, Morgan Dollar NGC 1879 S MS 63 From my Grandma and Grandpa, Morgan Dollar NGC 1887 MS 64 I picked them out, so I had to act surprised when I got them.
