Is that a laminate on the 1928 or damage just wondering

 

You are very observant. The picture shows it better than in hand, if that is possible. My best guess is either PMD or a small die crack, which appears to run upward and to the left in the field behind the head.

@Santinidollar- Although it's not a proof, it looks a lot like yours. I think I got ripped-off with the grade!!

 

Beautiful buff! I also think you got shorted on the grade. If I had to really look hard and find something to justify a 58 the only thing I can possibly see is the tip of the buffaloes tail could POSSIBLY show a glimpse of wear.

Thanks @masterswimmer! Look at @coin dog's 38-D above compared to mine. 65???? Really??? Look at his tail!?!? I've heard different things about the grading scale swing of those Buffs. Who knows?

If it was a key date, I'd consider re-submitting it. Even if it came back 65 it really wouldn't be worth it. 37 is a common date.

 

I totally agree. In my non professional opinion your buff exceeds that of @coin dog . Buy the coin, not the holder. In your case you'd score big.

That’s one of the best looking 58s I’ve ever seen for sure.

 

It's nice to know I'm not blowing smoke or seeing things that aren't there. Thanks for the reality check guys!

 

Wish it had full steps, but a very clean and slightly toned SMS.
