So I came full circle on my 1883 Liberty Barber Proof Nickels this week. Last year I picked up one at auction, and was able to attribute the "error" coin as a 1/1 Overdate 1883 No Cents Proof in PF67. I had it attributed and documented, and recently sold it. Which led me to be able to pick this one up and put away some extra Christmas money! It almost looks like it will go Cameo in hand (with my rookie eyes)- but I'm very pleased with the purchase. This arrived today!
3 a.m. insomnia buy. Let's just say early bird bargain. The obverse side of the slab is scratched pretty bad.
Who knows? I might just do a registry set. All but three will be 5fs. It would cost a bundle to do FS across the board, provided I could even find decent examples. Thanks for your feedback. I’ve had a lot of fun putting this set together.
First time poster here...found book of old Nickels in storage and wondering if they are of any value now or should i save them for future grandkids. 1942 -1945 P D & S for each year 1970 S proof 1974 S proof 1975 S proof 1976 S proof i can clearly see perfect steps on the proof coins but guessing not old enough to be worth anything. Havent had chance to take picture but i can if needed let me know. Thanks guys
I wonder what I'll get out of these rolls? Even though they are CWR, the bank has been out of business since '74
Nice additions and congrats on finishing out the set. Its been a pleasure to watch. Also this is a rare holder if I can remember correctly. Buy the coin and not the holder of course, but its a nice plus. If I recall - only for a short time did NGC use the "T" for toned and the "W" for white on their labels. I could be wrong though as I am 5 Modelos deep..
