Starting a V nickel set, here's a few purchased this morning

 

I think you all will appreciate this one....found today going through some older nickels I put away. It's raw so...... I can't do a GTG ,However let me know where it falls grade wise by your eyes. So you go out and treat yourself to a coffee....you hand the cashier 3 bucks she smiles and hands you back some change.... Question do you just throw the change in the tip jar?......or do ya man up and toss in a buck ? Then put the change in your pocket for later observations? If you answered correctly then this may of been yours an 1955 D/S OMM-001 FS-501. I love the smell of fresh coffee in the morning ...."it smells like victory!"

 

My, coins don't even make it to my pocket before looking them over, to set aside.

cool proof error... did it come in a prooof set?

or is that the new enhanced Uncirculated annv. set? if so that is a major error and likely one of maybe five. Just guessing of course, it could be totally unique, which would be the optimum option. I know that it is only slightlly off center but the mintages are so low. I'm still waiting for my Enh. Unc. to arrive.

Nabbed this one at the ANA auction. It's in an old ANACS holder.

 

And just seven years earlier than the Buffalo shown above, we have this subtle pastel coloring. The darker color of the 1915 seems appropriate to its rugged design, while this coloring suits the more delicate features and lower relief in 1908.
