I have posted this before, and will post it again, but will post it now as it is the only nickle I have ever successfully photographed.
Leadfoot, that isn't the first time I saw that Liberty, but I never get tired of looking at it...one of the most eye appealing ones I have seen. :thumb:
Thanks It's actually a pretty bland (although very clean) coin unless you tilt it just right, then the magic happens. Here's a view of the same coin: It's almost hard to believe that's the same coin as my avatar to the left....but indeed it is. And FWIW, it's PCGS PR66 & CAC and I purchased it from Mark Feld.
1942d One that I received today, making it the third-to-last I need to complete my Jefferson BU set (the others that continue to dog me are the 69S and 76D -- I've looked high and low and have yet to find attractive BU examples of these). I think I count six steps on the reverse of the 42D. I'm pretty jazzed about this pick up.
Really a beautiful nickle. Cazkaboom no insult intended just but you're a baby. My birth year is 1938. Some difference, huh? zeke
Oh, yes Zeke, I am a baby. But that means I have time to learn about everything since I got into the hobby early
Oh, yeah, I forgot the fuzzy pictures of this coin I took: I will probably make enlarged images of coins in the same form as above, in time. Edit: I almost forgot, I think it is an 1868 from the picture. When I see it in hand i will edit this again. Oh, and if 1868 is the key, then my coin is not 1868
