Some more regrades. Not the most interesting coins. The 1869 is now top pop MS66+ 1/0. I've been nailing the upgrades this year. A ton have gone up a full grade and CAC'd.
Here are a few from my next PCGS submission. The 53 looks like FS to me, hopefully PCGS agrees. They are very scarce in full steps with a population of 14 for all grades. My grade: 65FS My Grade: 66FS My grade: 67FS Here is the same 41 D. Different imaging techniques.
Nickels come in such great varieties and some of those varieties can still be found in change: the V nickel, the buffalo nickel, the war nickel....the shield nickel might be occasionally found in circulation even though I've never found one. They're one of my favorite coins.
1958 D I think I am in love with that 58-D you have there. If you ever get rid of that one please let me have first dibs on it. It would go well with my 58 Rainbow Lincoln.
I have some Buffalo Nickels, I have a lot of Jefferson Nickels that end up mixed in with our Canadian change, but, up until now, I've only had one Silver War Nickel. I wasn't sure how to go about getting some nice circulated examples as a starting point. I wasn't going to pay $2 - $3 a piece plus shipping to Canada on each, so, I just ignored them for a bit. The only one I ever came across, was at a militaria show, at the height of the recent silver boom, and it was a dollar (added photos of it earlier in this topic). Well, that all changed recently, when I came across this reasonably priced set. Silver is taking a well deserved nosedive. I figure this set will give me a bit of insight into how these wear, tone, change color, etc., as well as the mint mark location and appearance. Circulation that I'm not entirely familiar with, at its best...
