I couldn't resist cutting it out and re imaging it to show the colors. The camera can be a cruel mistress! A spot above the reverse left window appeared with the colors as well. The obverse is still pretty nice. Not very dark spot but noticeable now for sure.
Thats not possible,a quarter planchet has no chance of fitting in the chamber made to strike nickels.Its worth 25 cents you most likely have a vise job,two coins being squized together by a tool.Whatever it is not an error and just damage.Start your own thread and provide clear proper pictures of the coin in question good luck.

Yea looks like they gave em a good scrub. Even got up into Monticello. Looks like they polished them with a brick.
No, it's raw. I bought it off eBay. I would buy war nickels when I could find them with steps and around $10 or less. I never have made a complete set, but, I have duplicates. The last time I went hunting for more raw war nickels it seemed the nice ones had been bought up. Mostly scruff.
