I'm moving away from bullion and I'm eager to learn more about Polish and World coins. So don't mind me if I ask a few questions. I'm eager to learn and building my collection. I'm actually going to my first coin show in Clifton, NJ next weekend. Any pointers or suggestions? Best, Jimmy

This is a new coin I purchased this week.
Very old Poland coin? This is a 1682 18 groscher (1/4 thaler) of Brandenburg. I was told that back in 1682 Brandenburg included some territory that would be in modern day Poland and eastern Germany. Maybe we can post this coin here as a very old Poland coin?
These are the two new coins of the collection of 2 zloty in 2013 (2zl collection is a very very great collection):
Let me just say, Poland is a very nice country. It is one of those places I visited briefly but instantly fell in love with, a very lovely country with amazing friendly people that I can understand their language and enjoy their food. I just wish I could adapt to reading a Slavic language in a Roman alphabet instead of Cyrillic like I am used to. But back to coins, this is one of my favourite designs: I endeavour to own the whole set of these and the 1924 dated 1 and 2 zlotych coins. In fact that whole in betwixt the wars coinage of Poland is just so attractive as are the banknotes. Poland is just one of those places I have scant ties to other than having visited the place - but the coins are just draws of themselves and I like them very much.
Is this about the Ghetto? Such sad stories... I literally can't right about it in anything that doesn't sound robotic.
One of my favorite world coin designs... Now that I know where it comes from, on the (small) list of wanted world coins it goes!
Yes, the ghetto in Łódź. Here is a folder in English with some background info: http://www.nbp.pl/en/banknoty/kolekcjonerskie/2004/2004_11___pamieci_ofiar_getta_w_lodzi_en.pdf Christian
If you focus on WW2 related issues, here is one that commemorates the beginning of the war. It shows, on one side, the German and Soviet invasions, and on the other side, the attack on Wieluń. This was issued as part of a three-coin series; the other pieces feature Westerplatte (near Danzig/Gdańsk) and Warsaw. http://www.nbp.pl/banknoty_i_monety...e/2009/2009_10___wrzesien_1939_10zl_awers.jpg http://www.nbp.pl/banknoty_i_monety.../2009/2009_10___wrzesien_1939_10zl_rewers.jpg Christian
