There was no "thin rim" variety for 2010 or 2011 with neither rare; they were struck in 2 different alloy/compositions. One was plated steel which is magnetic and the other was plated zinc which was not magnetic. Both kind were perfectly normal, but there was a much deeper full strike on the softer zinc coins. Both are worth 1 cent Canadian or 3/4 of a cent US. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=418212
I once saw a beaver swimming under water at Silver Sands Camp grounds N.H. while boat fishing. In a pretty big pond. Screaming at my boyfriend it was a shark. I think I peed a little. Was so scared
Just bought this off Ebay. A color upgrade for this year...1942....50 cents. For my toned 50 cent collection 1937-1968. Amazing color it toned.
Canada large cent 1859. There are die varieties which I can not remember right now, maybe different examples here.
From the photos, I can't tell you what those 3 varieties are, if they are varieties at all. Need to see some markers. Take a look at the Haxby site and you can ID them. https://www.vickycents.com/prime.html
I didn't see anything special, but the gunk between the tail and the upper loop on the first one could be hiding something. It's not a 9/8 or DP5, but there might be something there.
I really like the Canadian large cents and have collected nearly all of them. Here is a 1929 Newfoundland. Must have some good bronze in the planchets, as it tones so beautifully.
I picked this 1967 "mint" set up today. When I looked at the coinsandcanada.com website the package is not the same as shown there for the PL Set. The package says uncirculated instead of Royal Canadian Mint between the coins and the quarter and 50 cent pieces are switched.
Here’s a display I acquired many years ago. Get it out occasionally to look over and put it back for another time!
That reminded me, I have a couple of Canada proof sets. The 1984 is banged up a bit, just the case. The 1988 is much nicer.
