    That is an expensive coin in that grade. mintage-25,000 .916 gold. Does it have more value for being an error coin too ?

    I have about 20 upper canada coins given to me. Never payed them much mind. Where exactly is upper canada. I live across the river from canada. Buffalo

    It is real money. As it was explained to me: At this time the Royal Mint was having a hard time minting enough coinage to meet demands so the banks were encouraged to mint their own to supply the demand. I can't remember off the top of my head how many but The Bank of Montreal and the Bank of Upper Canada are two of them. I have always wanted to collect the series and may yet do it:happy:
