Here's one Dave and I went back and forth on today. I liked it....he came to me and asked if I was going to buy it???? I said if you wanted it go for it... then offered to buy it for him as I knew the dealer, and guessed he give me a brake. Dave said well.... I will pass don't want to spend that much. So I asked the dealer for my price.. that was $50 less then marked! So I pulled the trigger. :) Jaw Drop 1861 Nova Scotia Half cent.jpg

Had to tag you heavy..... just to let you know the deal maker did it again. :)

Your timing is flawless; just fired up the phone upon being served my first brew. :)

    She photographs quite nicely.

Watch this space for three of my own acquisitions at the show.

Nice walking the floor with you today....This Fall we will do a rerun of last year's Gettysburg trip.

I got this one and several others out of stuff my Grandparents had.
    I dearly LOVE the reverse!

Baltimore show pickups. First, a clean but circulated 1876H, purchased at a fair price from a dealer I wished to swing some business to. Canadian Large Cents tone much darker, as a general rule, than US IHC's or Lincolns, and I wanted one of that color in-hand to study. For those unfamiliar, the missing serifs on the obverse are normal for the issue.

Next, what I'd characterize as a "low-mid AU" 1910, chosen for the color. The same dealer had a couple other coins I wanted, and one tends to get a better discount when buying more than one coin. Pro tip: if the dealer isn't willing to discount for cash, move on. I've yet to buy a coin at a show at the marked price. :)

Finally, one of the other coins I wanted from that same dealer, a 1916. In-hand, I'm undecided whether His Majesty performed some slight service of commerce to the Dominion; I'm going to go based on the assumption that's true if only because of the slight reduction in luster. No biggie; I didn't pay Mint State money for it anyway. :)

There is another coin from that purchase to be presented, but I'm going to leave that one to the camera of the person for whom it was purchased. :)

The 1876 came from the guy you got yours from. I'm happy you got it; the New Brunswick was enough for me and I really don't have enough money to be constantly playing out of my scope anyway. :D
