For those of you who want to see my NFLD registry set, in progress, it is here: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/publishedset.aspx?s=117576 I decided to chase down the harder to find dates first... and of course, the small cents, which I have always collected...
The bronze ones for the '39 visit were given to all Canadian school children at the time. The silver ones were presentation pieces to important folks.
I know @jello was hoping for a Canadian thread without @stevex6, his CT fame and overwhelming ability to show off Manitoba's second largest export by the piece, Canadian coins (first being wheat, of course). But, in the mean time, since we have to work with the hand that God dealt us, here is another trivial, insignificant and not worth a couple of grand trinket from me...
Nice one! I do NOT block or want anyone to be blocked. Unless There conduct is causing them to be blocked. Then is were I will ask a moderator to do that. I'm not a Moderator and hopefully we will Not be needing one!!!!!! Very nice die variety??????I think???
I don't think it's any special variety, just an H mint mark from the Heaton Mint in Birmingham. No no, I'm allergic to those, too. Just trying to get @stevex6 back for his Manitoba typing accent, causing you trouble and calling you drunk. All in good fun.
I've never heard of any 1915 variety dealing with letter size, nor did Griffin note any. However, they DID use a larger font 5 in the date on some dies which this one looks like it is. They also had some repunched 5's with 2 slightly different fonts. I don't understand the big deal about 2 threads. It just makes it easier to find and go back to hunt for something you know that you'd seen before, rather than going through 50-60 pages.
