For those who don't frequent the exonumia thread, I found this today. First encased large cent I've seen

 

Nice exonumia. That cent looks so good I'd almost want to take it out. Personally I don't like the 50 cent reverse. It's too cramped but the design is nice.

 

just now bought this toned 1947 Canada 50 Cents Straight 7 for $30.00 I am trying to figure out if this is the 1947 Straight 7 Narrow date (S7 ND) or the 1947 Maple Leaf, Straight 7/7/7 (ML S7) ??? sellers pics...




that blob to the bottom right of the 7 looks like a smashed maple leaf ? I will take a closer look when I get the coin in my hands.

 

same seller off Ebay toned 1939 50 cents, XF-AU, paid $80.00 I am ok with that because of the toning. mintage-287,976 sellers pics...




I love the color toning. it will make a great addition to my toned Canadian 50 cents collection.

Having cleaned and sold several Canadian coins myself, I always tell the buyer that it's been cleaned. The one that you bought doesn't look
toned. It looks improperly cleaned.

 

so artificially toned then ? or cleaned and re-toned naturally ? confused here.
