just bought this off Gbroke off Ebay toned Canadian 1965 quarter. link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-GEM-BU...j%2BE4eq2McDCdqO7CnZ4%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
I got in the mood to snap a few photos of my ol' quarters .... First, I thought I'd show the difference between a 1973 Large Bust and a Small Bust (mmmm, busts!!) ... anyway ... => here is the cool Mountie Reverse (it's the same for "both" types) ... here is the Small Bust Obverse (below) ... and here is the sweet Large Bust Obverse (below) ... collectors always want the large busts ... => Yup, large busts are harder to score and therefore they're more valuable than small busts ... plus, large busts are way more fun to gawk at, eh?!! https://www.cdncoin.com/kb_results.asp?ID=39 Kind of cool, right?
Oh, and then I decided to merely blast all of the pages in one of my Canadian quarter albums ... yah, I was having coin-buying withdrawal, so I decided to snap and post a few photos instead (hopefully that's okay with you fellas?) NOTE => if you click-on the photos => they "ZOOM-IN" Here are the "2" Lone 20 cent piece examples from New Brunswick, plus the "23" Newfie examples (20 cent + 25 cent pieces) ..... eventually they joined Canada ... and here is the Lone Canadian 20 cent piece (1856 => yeah, Canada) => followed by the Canadian 25 cent pieces, which began in 1870 (to-date) ... Gee => you can sure tell where they stopped minting the silver coins, eh?! (very sad transition) ... and now you're all caught-up on Canadian 20 and 25 cent pieces (OMG, that reminds me that I have to run out and buy the 2016 examples!!) Cheers, coin-bros
Sorry gang, but now my OCD is making me keep posting my Canadian quarters (ummm, ya gotta keep 'em all together, right?!) => here are all of the "random" quarters that have been minted and circulated along with the sweet caribou-types ... the special quarters (sorry, I haven't made fancy sheets for the most recent examples "yet") => "Click and ZOOOOOM" => here are all of the "12-monthers" (oh, I have 'em in silver and steel) The sweet 1992 set (silver and steel ... oh, and the NB Mule) The 1999 set (silver and steel ... and the mules) The 2000 set (silver and steel ... and the mules) The 2007-9 Olympic set (silver and steel ... and the mules) ... more fancy Olympic gimmicky coins ... okay ... "now" you're all caught-up (well ummm, unless the want me to post all of my coloured birthday, baby, wedding, etc novelty coins (but that's a whole nutha 25 cent album, so I'm gonna pass on that for now and let you dudes absord just how many different coins the mint cranks-out each year) => good for them (they are staying true to form "and" they're cranking-out crap for the grannies (and myself) to collect!!)
I'm glad that somebody appreciates my OCD collecting efforts (thanks dawg) Ummm, I've been picking away at collecting the yearly coins during my entire life, but I definitely upped my game "significantly" about 7 or 8 years ago (before then, I was merely collecting the annual coin sets and/or finding winners out of my pocket-change) ... but about 8 years ago, something "clicked" and I started collecting Canadian quarters and Canadian Notes big-time!! (maybe I realized that I had a bit of cash and I remembered how cool coin collecting was, eh?) ... oh, but as you probably know => during the last 5 years or so, I've switched gears to collecting primarily ancient coins, because they're super fricken cool (I'm pretty proud of both of my collections => modern and ancient) Thanks for showing some interest, coin-bro Cheers
That made me chuckle @stevex6 my first thought was 'the dates are going down the columns, they're supposed to be going across'....how's that for OCD collecting
=> ahaha, amazingly I've never thought too much about that weird vertical-style that I'm using (great, now I'm gonna have to go back and redo my entire collection!!) ... just jokes (thanks for the coin comments, fellas)
@stevex6 I got my Charlton standard catalogue 2016 in the mail today. Yippy! wow... talk about varieties. lol I also just added this great currency conversion website from Canadian dolllars to U.S. dollars. link: https://currency-converter.net/?gclid=COeyuIT51MsCFYqPfgodrhsGgw I am liking this new catalog. some coins I was right on. some coins way off. some coins I paid more for toning. I am better prepared now. Toning is still subjective in pricing... but at least now I can be a little more accurate. It will all depend how great that toning is of course. If it's killer toning I will pay more (bling bling cha-ching lmao).
