    I just got this beautiful piece. can't ask for a more beautiful 2 sides to a coin.

    yes I have that problem a lot and my wife seems to remind me constantly. I tell her coins are a better addiction than gambling or crack.

    For the person who posted an 1859 large cent and wondered about the thickness. The Provincial large cents (1858 & 59) for Canada were made in London by the Royal Mint. Since Canada was not a country yet (it was a Brit entity), the order went out to make them the same dianmeter as the Brit half penny, but 1/3 thinner than them. Canadian folks didn't like the thickness and refused to use them, as they were not what they were used to in commerce. The next year that Canada had large cents was 1876 and they were back to the same diameter and thinkness as a Brit half penny and were until 1920.
