Just won this in the morning. With a mintage of 50,000 its the second scarcest Large Cent from Newfoundland. Im hoping the 3 corrosion spots are just surface residual. but for 26$ I couldn't pass on it.

I am thank full that I have had the chance to see some of your collection. Beautifull collection I am sure many more coins to come. I am three + years into it. I would be satisfied to have such great examples of history!

Early Canada coppers are amazingly underrated coins. This one below cost me almost nothing and, though it has obvious flaws, it's still a beautiful thing to behold. Why can't today's coins be this gorgeous? It has a unique tactile quality as well with its wide diameter and almost shockingly thin planchet. This was my first Vickie copper and I expected it to have a thickness similar to that of a US large cent. Instead, it has a diameter close to a large cent but a thickness closer to a Lincoln cent. I didn't expect that at all. I'll have to pick up some more.

Is that a finger print on Her face? Even if it isn"t. Good color.

I'm still trying to master numismatic photography so this pic doesn't give an exact view of the coin (though it's much better than my previous effort). The color is actually a little darker than depicted (though not too much) and the intense lighting makes what looks like a fingerprint really stand out more than it does on the actual thing. I think those are small grooves in the metal.

the US had moved to small flying eagles and the copper-nickel cents due to the cost of copper by 1859...I agree, the Victoria large cents are really nice coins, and a really good value..I like the 1902-1910 Edwards as well
