These little &quot;fish scales&quot; have lots of low-mintage rarities. There are 10 issues from 1865 to 1888, each below (mostly way below) 100,000 pieces ... the 1885 saw 16,000 pieces coined. The last Victoria Newfoundland half dime was struck in 1896. There were three Edward VII issues and four George V, then the George VI saw nine issues from 1938 to 1947-C. The 1946-C had a stingy 2,041 pieces struck! These things are relatively speaking CHEAP for the quality of the coins you get. The series is also as dead as 4 o&#039;clock, but I love them and expect them to wake up someday.
