Well then this is not Canadian but it may be up your alley...There is a dealer from NJ that always sets up at the Baltimore shows. He was a MD now a coin dealer in ancients he always has some nice items up for sale.
Hi SPP-O ... dats a purdy coin!! Hey, I offered Zonad $2000 for his one cent error coin and he still said "thanks for the nice offer, but I must decline" .... *sigh* ... man, I love that coin!!
A gift from my Grandpa a few years ago. Newfoundland 50 Cents 1917 Royal Mint- Ottawa Branch @Paddy I'm a mostly a US/Ancient collector, preferring Roman Republican, Carthaginian, Punic and Non-Classical Civilizations.... So the coin you posted is right up my alley But so is your avatar
Have you seen the ones that Canadian Coins & Currency are selling?? They purchased, and certified (NGC) most of the Robert Krill collection. Click on this link: http://www.cdncoin.com/category-s/2202.htm and do a search by price (highest first)... on page 2, there are a ton of Victorian cent brockages and off-centre strikes - but, as to be expected with Steve Bromberg, the prices are about 3 times market value.
Yes, I will be there. I don't collect Canadian 5-cent errors, so expect to see that beauty in the showcase...
OK Petro89. Thanks for the encouragement. Right now all I can do is laugh though. Reason being, I gotta laugh to keep from crying. Seems there's 1 day and 20 hrs. to go in the auction and the 1922 Cent is in a hold pattern @ 1 bid for 99 cents. Ha! Wow. Well, time will tell.
SPP-O => thanks for the link ... wow, there are some crazy-nice error coins out there, eh? I love the 25 cent 1992 New Brunswick on 1 cent planchet (very cool)
If you like error coins, you may want to keep track of the monthly auctions from Len's / Jim's coins in Madison Wisconsin: http://jimscoins.com/auction056.php They sometimes have Canada & other world error coins listed at the end of the catalog.
Only starting my Canadian collection. Bought this one last week in Montreal. Bought some others and will post once I have some pics. I find the good coins very pricy.
1999 Canadian Quarter Die Breaks & Die Cracks & Die Chips & Cud & Double Motts This coin is for the month of October 1999
I also got some 1 cent coins. I got a nice MS 63 RED 1942, a "deep" clipped 1964 and this clipped 1966. Not much documented varieties on the 1966 that I could find.
