Arrived yesterday & took a couple quick shots (a.k.a. my apologies for the poor photos) 1914 Canada Gold Ten Dollars
Thanks Angelo! My gut says in AU55-58 range but I'll take a better look with rested eyes (& a loupe!).....I've been wrong before
Ummm, would this be the one you need? 50c Canada 1947 Maple Leaf Curved Right 7 VF35 PCGS My crappy picture makes the coin look pinkish when it is really grayish. But it still shows some faint luster around the device edges. Needless to say I paid a ton of money to get this baby. Enjoy! PS stevex6, don't worry, I can't remember what I have posted where anymore either! (But then I am older than dirt.) PPS Really nice album, congratulations! Best Regards, George
Thanks for the coin-compliments, giorgio11 ... Wow, you did what I wasn't able to do => you actually hunted-down and then bagged the infamous Unicorn!! (congrats) ... => it looks like a real beauty (it has a whole lotta eye-appeal ... especially to me, for I know just how difficult it is to find a nice example in acceptable condition) ... Super coin!! (I'm jealous)
Thanks a lot stevex6, after this successful quest I may go after the Frumious Bandersnatch. No, seriously, my three rarest Canadian coins are this one, the 1913-C sovereign (MS63 PCGS) and the Newfie 2 Dollar gold MS61 PCGS. A lot of collectors would love to have just one of those! Best Regards, George
1910 Canada 5 Cent, Pointed Leaves variety My photos (above) not very clear; here's one from the auction:
#12 showed up today of the O Canada set still waiting for #7 & #11 plus the box #7 is Niagara Falls #11 The Maple Leaf in colour
There are apparently two varieties for the 1983 cent. While searching through a baggie of Canadian cents I bought months ago (100 cents for $2, whatever.) I came across the 1983. Using http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1983&years=1-cent-1965-2012 I thought, geez that looks like the 'near beads' variety (obverse) but I wish I had another handy to compare it to. Well, two more '83's popped out which were obviously the 'far beads' variety when compared side by side. All three are in uncirculated condition, with one of the 'far beads' having some toning. Here are all three together. I was very surprised to see the value for a 'near beads' in UNC. Enjoy!
I forget Who also gave me this link to look up Canadian cent but there also a lot more @ link 1c-Notes
My newest Canadian acquisition... hanging out in the Error forum... http://www.cointalk.com/threads/canadian-1c-error-three-errors-in-one.239408/#post-1824962
