hmm dunno if I posted a coin recently on this thread … hmm something not seen often - so many to choose - I got it / this one - Shes a gallant lady
This happened about 4 years ago, I think. I walked into the pawn shop right when it opened. Greeted by the "assistant". In the glass case is a bunch of Morgans. He didn't know how much to charge me. He called his boss and was told to sell them all for $175. I bought all 13 he had. He said he had just gotten them in. I think he just forgot how many he had and it was early. I didn't question his pricing. That 1896 Morgan was the only thing worth any real money. I sold the rest for ~ $20 a piece.
New arrival today. I have a higher graded one, but man this one had some ultra thick cameo frost and it was at standard 64 price. I couldnt pass it up.
The CoinCorgi Morgan $1 subset. a) a year set (at least one coin from each year minted) b) a mint set (at least 1 coin from each mint) c) all of the New Orleans minted Morgan’s 30 coins total. · 1878-CC · 1879-O thru 1904-O · 1921-P, D, S
My son left his coin in my cabinet. Nice Father's day gift is what I'm thinking. Wait, Christmas is sooner.
Here's a common 1921 Morgan Dollar. It was in a 20th Century type coin wall holder since the 70's. I finally opened the holder up and this is what happened to the coin. The observe has a nice smoky looking tone. 40+ years to accomplish it. The reverse has the most unusual looking tone to it. Looks cool and ugly at the same time.
I'm assembling a Morgan date set for an associate from my dollar "collection". I thought there are 32 coins in that set?
