Possible clash? I can't stop looking at the unfortunate cross hairs on her cheek.

Here's a couple of my ungraded Morgans. Considering sending them in for grading. Your though's please. First is a nice 1882-S 1882-S obv.jpg 1882-S rev.jpg

Second in a very nice 1885-CC in GSA holder. Thoughts on a grade? 1885-CC GSA obv.jpg 1885-CC GSA rev.jpg

Good morning all! I am new to the forum and coin collecting world, especially higher end coins, beyond junk silver, wheats, and Indians. I do have a few that I think are pretty good, a couple of early 60's proof sets etc. I previously collected early 20th century military small arms ranging from the Krag's to M1 Garand and carbine, but coins are a much different more fine detail area that I very much look forward to learning.

I have already bought the 2021 Red Book and cant wait to dive into it. I have already committed a few "rookie" mistakes and bought a couple hundred dollars worth of Morgan's, though I wanted examples to learn to grade from, one specimen I could really use your knowledgeable thoughts on. I also couldn't post a new thread since I am so new, so I hope I am not breaking any forum etiquette by posting this coin.

I thought it was a nice coin, then learned of AT vs NT. I am not familiar with what the AT folks would do to achieve this, so your opinions are like gold to me. Also thoughts on grade would be helpful so I could study and pick some of your brains and learn from your experience!

Welcome to CT! You might get more responses if you post this in it's own thread. Newbies can post threads immediately AFAIK. But I do believe this coin to be AT. Blues and purples are some of the easiest colors to get when folks start playing with silver and sulfur. Also it looks like they tried a crescent (like Morgans from a mint bag sometimes tone when another coin partially overlaps another) that didn't turn out too well.

I'm in agreement with Longshot. Pretty toning but looks AT to me. On the examples I've seen previously, the cresent is much more crisp on a true mint bag toning, with an overlapping coin. Welcome to CT.

This looks like a Morgan offered by the eBay seller, centsles. Even though the toning is artificial, I kinda like the wild look.
