I have a 79S that has a heat cracked slab. Thanks I am trying to determine the VAM before cracking it out!
Yeah, I just saw that. I thought I left it working last night, so I was surprised to see it down this morning. I'll be able to look into it more late this afternoon when I get home.
VAMing is also one key to unlocking value and to building numismatic knowledge of minting processes in the nineteenth century. All serious students and collectors of Morgans (and to some extent Peach Dollars) need to join VAMworld. Lots of knowledge for free.
Here is the 79'S it's a Cootie impression. Tilted S Not sure if it is a later strike. Some characteristics do not seem to fit? http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compute.amazonaws.com/wiki/1879-S_VAM-79
Dang you've been busy!!! Loving all of those. That 1898 looks at least PL with a good shot at DMPL. I love finding those raw gems with nice mirrors.
