Just a couple new ones... Is the 1882 a double date? The toning makes it hard to tell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think the Morgan I posted earlier was stored in a plastic bag with PVC, gave it a acetone bath and here is the result. Don't know if there is much difference than before.
I searched my very soul and couldn't come up with anything to dislike about that coin, Todd. Not a clue about grade, though. I can't yet look at it that objectively. Maybe never will.
Superdave you could say the toning should be on the front. Here are a couple more, the first is a former PCI 62 coin, now a PCGS 64 CAC. Second is a cool DMPL CC.
Let's bump this thread with a killer lady. Proven to not be a v91 but an "evil mimic" that may be unlisted and if so it will be my 6th new discovery! I have to do some more research but my gut says it's probably going to Leroy. It has a full DMPL obverse but only a PL reverse so it only got a PL label. It has a nice pierced lip die scratch that for some reason I really like and a ton more going on. Also, I'm thinking of having it put in an error slab as the obverse has many wire fragment strikethroughs throughout.
Dropped to 2nd page again!? Come on guys, Anna needs some love Most likely VAM 88. I'll try to get it confirmed so I can clean up the listing with pics. I hate zombie VAM listings with no pics to comare to. Cleaning up zombie listings is almost as fun as new discoveries Whatcha think @SuperDave http://www.vamworld.com/1879-S VAM-88
One of my most interesting VAMs (IMHO), 1878 S VAM 19a. VAMworld states that this is the largest obverse die gouge known in the Morgan Dollar series, although it doesn't look like a gouge to me........ Broken "R" in trust.... Also has a die crack running through the "E" of E Pluribus, broken star (#10) on obverse, and doubled nose and lips.
Nice. I love the 19a. The only thing though is cherrypicking it is hard as its so prominent that even non-vammers will see it and investigate 9 times out of 10. If you wanna see a huge obv die gouge check out the 79s vam 1b2 and the thread linked at the top
