Thanks Larry and rev. I've got a couple more to post although only the images are mine, not the coins.
I'm a beginner, and have so far never bought a premium coin. Is it likely to be able to build a rainbow toned set by searching coin rolls?
If your meaning was to build a 'premium' set of rainbow toned merc's by searching roll's... then No.. not at all. In fact, you'd probably have better luck hitting the pick 4 lottery than finding even one premium toned rainbow merc in a roll.... Assuming your searching common rolls sold on the 'bay and not 'premium' BU rolls sold in another venue.
NICE SCORE ! I love the way a bit of circulation on mercs makes the detail details stand out. all those little nooks and crannies fill in and make the design really stand out.
I don't have many Mercs, though I love the design. This is a common date/mm that I purchased in a basement-slab. Nothing special, but beautiful nonetheless. Guess the grade if you care to.
BRG5659 nice 1943-D If that would grade MS-66FB that would not be a common date or mint mark 1943-1945 PDS are semi rare.
Uh... the '43-'45's are the most common Mercs out there. I find them in rolls from time to time when searching boxes.
Yep, sorry jello, but MercCrazy is correct. The 43-45 Mercs are pretty easily obtained in high grade. Of course, you won't find any MS66FB in rolls.
