Haven't seen a thread like this and thought it'd be neat for everyone to post their lowest pop coin. (PCGS or NGC). Any coin any grade! Not my nicest, but I think this is my lowest pop PCGS 1931-S MS62 RB Pop: 43
Yeah. Mine is the plate coin for PCGS Coin Facts, so equal to or higher is 2. For your 1931-s, here are the pops for higher grades: MS63 387 MS64 920 MS65 121 MS66 1
1783 C Nova Pointed Rays, Large US. Only example for PCGS G06, with 101 grading higher. Sure, there's quite a few examples in better grades, but considering the overall low population of the colonial (103 in ALL grades for this particular type) and the fact that it graded cleanly makes me very happy.
I had a 2005-S Silver Proof KS SQ that I submitted to NGC, and it came back PF70UCAM Mint Error. Mint errors don't show up in the NGC Census, but when the CPG included it in the latest edition, I resubmitted it for the designation, FS-901. It was my first Top Pop (no others) and about 4-6 weeks after it was listed in the census, I was contacted by an agent for a collector and sold it for $1K. Chris
Wow that is awesome looking. I wonder if CAC would accept that, since apparently yours is the only one known to TPG?
Now to get those 12 others... I missed out on a 1937-D Lincoln MS67 RB this weekend b/c internet connection dropped Pop 2.
I have a few population 1 Lincoln Memorials but thought I would post my lowest population Lincoln Wheat cent. NGC MS66RB 1955 DDO NGC population of 2 with none higher NGC has graded close too 4000 examples with only 1 reaching MS66RD and this MS66RB example
Great looking coins Bob and the pictures are always the best. Can't wait for you to photograph my latest additions.
