Stepping up to this one set me back, pretty much soaking all my allotted cash for the trip. I first saw this coin in Jack Beymer's offerings in 2009 and thought he was out of his mind with his asking price and I thought I could do better if I looked around. Nothing ever came up at any shows or even any major auctions in MS 65 and each year I would repeatedly check in on his. This year while getting things in order to attend the big show, I promised myself that if he still had it I would make a serious offer. He did, and actually, once we got down to the nitty gritty we quickly came to a bearable agreement and I was able to purchase it for my collection. It wasn't in his stock for 4 years that I know of because it is ugly, it was protected by price. So it was a little more than the price guides show, but you can't buy them from a price guide either. It is a really nice coin and a dream example for me and I'm sure I will be happy with my choice as time goes on. We both agreed that this coin's color was pretty stable being housed in an older 20 year old NGC holder and it has been all over the country in his coin show travels. Sitting at his table we even got into a pretty nice off coin discussion about life and what else interests us. Pretty cool.

After the show, I was able to go further south (Jupiter,FL) to visit a close friend and we decided to do a little fishing on his boat in the Atlantic ocean. On the second day I realized that 5-6 foot swells in a 19 ft boat are my limit and I was sea sick as a dog for the first time in my life! After we got back towards land and into some two foot chop, I felt better and we caught several different species and bagged 21 Mackerel! They are delightful eating. So, today I'm pretty bushed and it is time to get back to work. I don't know if I will attend the next FUN show or not, unless I can add a little adventure next to it. As nice as it was to see everybody again this year, it is such a lot of work traveling to just pick up a coin or two, especially when there are so many great auctions. Next time I feel that a Heritage auction is getting too pricy, I'll remember how much it costs to attend a show in person. But then, like usual, when the show gets close there will be no way I will miss it!

Matt[/QUOTE]
