    Good eye, as always, rlm.

    I've been told it's a partial clip. But I'm not an error guy so I really don't know. I thought it was kind of cool.

    What do you guys think?

    That is not my bailiwick either, but IMO that is one funky looking clip if it is.

    Check out the reverse..9 o'clock.... this one has something like that too.. Alway wondered what it was and why it didn't appear to affect the grade.

    I like the bottom cent better also and feel that it has been grossly under-graded. I am revering to Post #629 by Ikeigwin.

    Picked up this nice 31 over the weekend. Any thoughts on grade? I didn't see too many distracting marks or carbon spots.

    I would think it has no problems getting a 65 and could go 66 depending on the luster.

    Hello Johnvan;

    Your cent is somewhat wood like, but not enough to call a woody in my opinion. Woodies tone into specific lines and curves that actually look like wood grain on a slice of wood. If you saw one with heavy wood grain you would definitely know it. Woodies are extremely popular among collectors and command somewhat higher premiums than normal toned cents. Keep on searching and you are bound to find some.

    Hello Johnvan;

    Your uncirculated 1909 VDB is very attractive. I especially like the violet/purplish toning on the coin. That is one great cent considering it being your first uncirculated one!

    No Coingenius, it isn't an error, but rather a very beat-up around the edges cent.

    Not a lot of wild color ... some tinges of pink, yellow, blue, & violet ... but a pretty photo anyway ... PR66 RB

    Been working through some issues with capturing the colors on the Lincoln copper. Here are a couple attempts:
    Both have some beautiful greens that just aren't showing up....yet.

    Here are some of my Lincoln cents. The 1911 is pretty lustrous but I have yet to figure how to take good pics. of pennies.

    icerain - I bought the twin to your 1911 today from a coin shop while we are on a trip to Colorado Springs, CO. Mine was the first coin plucked from a Capital board that the B & M bought from a customer. 1909 to 1934 D was complete. 09 S was cleaned. S VDB will grade F or VF - IF they get the crud off. 14D will go F/VF. 24 D, 24 S, 26 D, 26 S - will go VG. 31 S is AU easy. Customer said all of the coins were plucked from circulation by him and his dad.
