No Idea if I have posted on this thread before. it's not the satin finish.....but, ya know...... If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp...... because maybe,,, you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because,,,,, hey,, free dummy.
The Mint used new production methods in 05....It's diff. to tell circulation strikes from the satin mint sets....very confusing!!!
I'm bored so dug out another pretty lincoln for you guys lol... She was toppop when i got her but they've graded 2 70s since... (for some reason their are very very few 70s to be had in satin finish coins)
The fact that there is any at all in MS70 or 69s, should tell you something is fishy with the grading on the satin finish coins vs business strikes. We're they really that good? Or was it market grading on those? I mean who are they kidding? The 70 they have on Pcgs has a rim divot above the I in America on the reverse! https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/2005-1c-satin-finish-rd/93190 That's a 70? M'kay... lol. (I'm not a hater ) I know like my business strike, if I sent that in for grading, I be lucky and blessed if it got a MS68 and to me its a stunner with few peers. I had to look through boxes and boxes of 2005 Ds for that and most likely they'd tag it MS66 or 67. I never found a P even close to as nice lol. I gave up hunting the best business strikes in 2007, for what remained of my sanity sake.
Trust me when i say I have over a dozen SF coins now... that 69 is the highest grade i've yet to lay my hands on (most 67-68) can't really argue this when i'm presently hunting a clad quarter for my typeset (65-98) I'm gonna be damn lucky if i can score a 68 (doubtful as the price skyrockets starting at 67+) circulation coins over 67 are scare Though I do have my eye on a very pretty MS67 cam that just might make me happy
I picked this improperly annealed (i.e., "woody) 1917 S today. I think it has been in this 2 x 2 since 1965, but can't be sure of the markings on the reverse. I bought in a lot and was about the price shown on the obverse. I will be trying my new bottle of Verdicare on this one!
Here is another one that looks like it has been in the package for a while with the rust on the staple through the package on the obverse. 1954 RD MS
I picture some guy in a toga spending this one, all it needs is a A in front of the D Sometimes I wish they had grease in all the rev. lettering.
