Needs an acetone bath as this is straight out of the Whitman from above.
It is what it is but probably the worse light bringing out all the flaws.

 

Another 09VDB I found this week. It has a full rim. Wish it did not have scratch on obverse.

My coin dealer bought this last year. He let me snap a photo, hence the crude photos. It was cool to see in the raw.

 

I purchased a 55 double die a couple of years ago. I sent to Anacs and it came back counterfeit. I was able to return to dealer and he even paid grading charge. We never could determine why it was fake. He had a couple of books describing counterfeits.

Did he ever grade get it graded or authenticated?

 

I do not know, as he has wintered at home in NY, and comes to Maine for the summers.

 

I've been on a hiatus but here's a new Lincoln I acquired.
