This 1937 "Fire & Ice" Proof Lincoln I bought a few days ago from Lehigh96 came in today's mail! I absolutely love it in hand. Here is a photo I snapped of it this afternoon with my iPhone. The only light source is indirect afternoon sunlight through an East window. This coin just explodes with color and luster!

Yes! After 50 pictures I finally got the lighting right!
[tries to take picture. Camera dies with a *pop*]
    Nooooooo!!!!!!!!!
[throws bad camera batteries to the ground]
Good thing I have extra batteries...
[opens box labled "batteries. Box is empty]
    Noooooo!!!!!!!!!

This has actually happened to me except I only had about 20 pictures and my camera didn't die with a pop.

WOW, these are TOUGH to find with any toning! Very strange to see one with this much color. Even though it's generally market unacceptable toning, I LOVE IT.

In all my searching this is the most colorful one I have found:

Then I came across a real strange one, a steel woody....hahahahahahaha:

Then I found this unusual coin, it has BLAZING cartwheel luster and a very strange toning pattern that would make for an interesting discussion.

Never thought there would be a steel woody. Very cool! :thumb:

    Something about those '43-D cents...

I would like to here someone explain that one. That has got to be environmental. Still neat!

Definately environmental....but the strange thing, the lines are consistent with a normal woody on BOTH sides. You can't see in the picture, but there's a lot of finer lines too.

Your Lincoln plaques and medallions are simply fascinating and are very attractive. I have always wanted a Brenner plaque like the one that you have. Maybe someday I'll get one of my own!

How fun will that be? I'm almost done going through the bulk of my cents and I had myself a great time. Just have the 2000-2009s to go through! I have divided my cents by decades, for instance: 1950 through 1959 and so on...

Just got this 1964 Proof Lincoln graded (PCGS PR65RB) and TrueView photographed. I have never seen toning like this -- the obverse looks like a retina scan (click on the image to see the zoomed version) -- and I love the red/gold color. I bought this raw for $18 off eBay.
